Provide support, care and teaching as outlined in individual learning plans for learners with special educational needs, including autism.
Responsibilities
- Provide support, care and teaching identified in learners’ individual learning plans and curriculum.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions and activities to support learner development of knowledge and skills.
- Deliver behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that hinder learning and quality of life.
- Support learner participation in social, leisure and educational activities within the local community.
- Facilitate and support learners in decision‑making, promoting choice, involvement and empowerment.
- Collect, record and analyse data on learner progress; adjust support and care as needed.
- Once trained, administer medication per policy and address medical emergencies.
- Participate in training to achieve required qualifications and attend mandatory training days, on‑ or off‑site.

- Degree‑level education.
- Professional, personal or voluntary experience working with adults or young people with disabilities.
- Interest in special educational needs, specifically autism.
- Passionate about helping others learn and develop skills.
