We are a small family owned business seeking to hire an Interior Designer Consultant to grow with our company. This role requires a good level of knowledge and experience in high-quality interior design, the selection of sustainable and durable materials, samples and mock-ups, and coordination with cross-disciplinary design and construction professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in professional design practice, with a strong understanding of design codes and ideally a working knowledge of construction and architecture. They should also demonstrate a portfolio that reflects their expertise in creating innovative interior spaces.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Contributing towards the design process from concept through to completion.
- Producing high-quality design documentation, design concepts, and mood boards for approval by the company directors.
- Completing the Technical Documentation and construction packages. (Revit or similar CAD programs)
- Manage all project functions, including providing a scope of work, drawings, obtaining quotations, appointing contractors, managing on site progress and regular quality checks on site.
- Travelling to site and attending meetings with contractors and subcontractors.
- Meeting with clients.
- Simultaneously managing various projects at different stages.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for crafting distinctive and high-quality living environments. As a small, close-knit company, this role naturally blends responsibilities across client engagement, project management, and design execution. The candidate will work closely with company directors and key stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout each phase of the project. They will be expected to independently manage client relationships and take ownership as the design lead from concept through to project completion.
- Master’s degree in Interior Architecture or equivalent qualification. Knowledge of interior design and architecture is critical.
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in Interior Design role.
- Extensive experience using Autodesk Revit; formal accreditation is advantageous.
- Registration with a recognized interior design regulatory body, demonstrating commitment to industry ethics and professional standards.
- First hand experience of managing a project.
- Excellent design skills and proven experience producing initial concepts, mood boards and similar
- Demonstrated project experience with visual documentation (e.g. drawings, renders, or before/after imagery where available)
- The ability to present ideas coherently to senior colleagues and external parties.
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team with outstanding attention to detail, excellent time management, and confident communication style.
- Proven experience using professional presentation tools such as Adobe Indesign and Adobe photoshop, for renders and presentations to company stakeholders, and clients.
- Strong knowledge of international and local design codes and standards.
- Proven experience in project management; and or a related certificate or accreditation (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) would be an advantage..
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
- Ability to address and resolve design issues promptly and efficiently.
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in reviewing and finalizing design documentation.
