Working within our Sandwich, Morning Goods and Bread department. Operating baking equipment/machinery such as mixers, rollers, fryer and ovens. Frying and decorating large quantities of doughnuts. Baking and decorating large quantities of pastries. Baking a variety of bread loaves, rolls, baguettes, baps, and doughnuts. Preparation of doughs and mixes. Measuring of ingredients according to recipes and production schedules. Following cooking and cooling times and temperatures. Making a variety of sandwiches, subs, toasties and wraps. Making products according to their specification. Maintaining a consistent speed and quality of production. Sealing, labelling and packing orders. Adapting to changes in the production workflow, such as incorporating seasonal product lines. Adhering to and maintaining the Bakery's quality procedures and delivering the highest possible standard of product to meet our customers’ expectations. Following instructions and feedback from the team leader, and working within a team to ensure deadlines are met. Upholding the expectations set out in the Employee Handbook and related policies. Adhering to an expectation of tidiness, cleanliness and personal hygiene, as set out in Company Handbook. Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, food safety, hygiene and Health and Safety when working (training provided). Supporting with paperwork such as opening/closing checks, and ensuring compliance with Food Safety expectations.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about food production and keen to learn new skills
- Is able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Is able to manage heavy lifting/moving, and is comfortable working on their feet
- Is organised, reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic
- Has excellent communication
- Has a positive and proactive attitude
- Is able to work well in a production line, as well as independently
Hours and Pay:
- £12.71 per hour (from April)
- 2-6 days a week (up to 6 days for holiday/sickness cover)
- 15-40 hours a week
- Working days Sunday to Friday
- Shift times vary between the production hours of 11am to 11pm (This role is 'job and finish' so sometimes the department may finish a bit earlier or a bit later, depending on the volume of orders on that particular day)
- Based at our Ryde Bakehouse
Fixed Term: You will join our team for an initial fixed term period of approximately 6 months, with the potential to move onto a permanent role following this period, depending on availability.
