Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm (Due to the nature of the role, flexibility to work outside of these hours is essential).

Are you ready to take on a high impact role where your expertise will drive strategy and shape the future? Grundon is seeking a strategic, ambitious, and results driven Estates Director to join our team in Beenham. After eight successful years, our current Estates Director is taking on a new challenge as Managing Director of one of our subsidiaries, opening a key Board level opportunity. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in leading the strategy and operations across Estates, Planning, Aggregates, Project Management, and Engineering, optimising a £100m+ property portfolio, driving major projects, and delivering sustainable value. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert leadership in property management, planning, and estates strategy, supporting operational and business goals.
  • Optimise and enhance the property portfolio, identifying development opportunities that drive long term value and growth.
  • Oversee major, complex, and capital projects, ensuring effective project management, risk mitigation, and successful delivery.
  • Lead and develop department Heads to foster high performing, professional, and customer focused teams.
  • Drive innovation, training, and change initiatives, ensuring sound decision making and appropriate escalation of issues.
  • Deliver performance management for direct reports, ensuring accountability and consistency across all teams.
  • Represent the Company externally, engaging with local authorities, consultants, and regulatory bodies, and actively participating in planning and industry events to advance the Company's interests.
  • Contribute to Board meetings and strategic planning, providing insight and guidance on all areas under your responsibility.

About You

  • Proven Board level experience with at least five years' post qualification experience managing complex, multi-site estates and property portfolios.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, with professional membership of RICS or RTPI.
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) desirable.
  • Experienced in navigating complex regulatory and planning environments, delivering outcomes to challenging timescales; Compulsory Purchase experience is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrates integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Experienced leader, capable of motivating and developing teams, applying sound judgement, and making credible decisions.
  • Highly organised and customer focused, with strong planning skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Financially and digitally competent, including budget management, data analysis, and use of standard IT systems.
  • Practical, solutions focused, and collaborative, with a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
