Reporting into the General Manager (Group Commercial Development), you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by identifying, sourcing and delivering innovative solutions and technologies that support both existing and prospective customers in achieving their environmental and sustainability goals. You will also act as a key link between the Commercial functions (Sales, Contract Management, Bids, and Marketing) and the Compliance Team, ensuring all new services and innovations are fully compliant and deliver measurable financial and environmental value for both our customers and the business.
What Will You Do
- Identify, develop and implement innovative technologies and Circular Economy solutions that deliver service efficiencies, cost savings and carbon reduction for key accounts. This includes researching emerging solutions, building robust business cases and supporting implementation in collaboration with Clinical and Hazardous Waste teams.
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand sustainability priorities, align innovations with contract strategies and environmental targets, and support bids and retention activity with value‑adding proposals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, legislation and government strategy relating to sustainability and Net Zero, conducting research to inform recommendations and potential investment decisions.
- Build strong relationships with customers, service providers and academic partners to identify new services, upselling opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent the business at industry events and contribute to internal and external communications as required.
- Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including health and safety and employment.
- Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the job holder's Manager/Supervisor or the Board of Directors, are within the job holder's skills and capabilities.

About You
- Degree in Environmental Science, Climate, Sustainability and Environmental Management, or a related field (preferred).
- At least three years' experience within the waste industry.
- Strong report writing, numerical and problem‑solving skills.
- Confident negotiator and engaging presenter with excellent communication skills.
- Approachable, accurate and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Strong team player who can also work independently and use their own initiative.
- Willingness to undergo security clearance to access secure sites (e.g. MOD, airports, schools and colleges).
- Positive, proactive “can do” attitude with a genuine passion for helping customers exceed their environmental and sustainability goals.
- Full UK Driving License.
