We are seeking a Registered Manager to lead a residential mental health service in Alfreton, Derbyshire. This role requires strong leadership, a calm and values-driven approach, and a clear commitment to safeguarding, person-centred practice, and high-quality outcomes for people with complex needs, including predominantly Mental Health with some Learning Disabilities, challenging behaviours and brain injuries.

The home has an excellent reputation locally and promotes strong links with the local community facilitating people to access local amenities, public transport and education opportunities. The home also has a structured programme to assist individuals back to work through supported commercial activities within the home and at other locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the residential service in Derbyshire, ensuring safe, effective and compliant care delivery.
  • Lead and develop staff to deliver consistent support, ensuring dignity, choice and independence are at the centre of daily practice.
  • Manage service quality, performance, risk and continuous improvement, including audit and action planning.
  • Promote positive outcomes by supporting individuals to live lifestyles of their choosing.
  • Maintain strong safeguarding procedures and ensure reporting, documentation and incident management meet legislative and best-practice expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC legislation, updates, changes and relevant best practice.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a leadership role within residential care, ideally mental health services.
  • Demonstrable experience managing people, service delivery and quality standards, including working with Learning Disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and the principles of safe, person-centred support.
  • Excellent organisational skills, time management, and the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Holds or is working towards a Level 4 or 5 qualification relevant to registered management in residential care.
  • Proven commitment to positive values and promoting independence, choice and respect.

  • CQC awareness and commitment to staying current with legislation, guidance, and best practices.
  • Level 4 or 5 qualification, or progress towards this requirement.
