As a CNA on the evening shift, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents during the evening hours. You will work closely with our nursing team to ensure the safety and comfort of our residents. You will provide direct care to residents by performing basic nursing skills as directed. This position requires current PA CNA certification.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report at start of shift with pocket care plans/worksheet to receive shift report.
- Prioritize care with co-workers in assigned neighborhood based on resident needs.
- Regular attendance is an essential function.
- Assist residents with the activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing, dressing, mouth care, toileting, and transfers. Responsible for appropriate documentation of activities.
- Inform nurse of any findings or observations while caring for resident i.e. skin tears, bruises, accidents, incidents, change in status.
- Ensure competency by completing state mandated 12 hours of in-services yearly. Ensure competency in state mandated additional 6 hours of dementia training.
- Awareness of safety hazards by maintaining a clean, neat and clutter-free environment.
- Maintain friendly, professional attitude with residents, visitors, and staff.
- Attend Resident Care Conference for neighborhood, meetings, and in-services as required.
- Assist with vital signs.
Position Requirements
Education
- Complete a PA approved Nurse Aide training.
- High School diploma or GED.
Experience
- One year working as a Nurse Aide in a geriatric setting.
Professional Membership, Licensures, Certifications
- Registered as a Nurse Aide with the PA Dept of Health.
