They are looking for an experienced Subsidence Adjuster to join the team and take ownership of a specialist portfolio across a defined geographical area.
The role's travel requirements are dependent on the candidate's location, meaning less time spent travelling between appointments and more time focused on managing your claims.
You will manage your own portfolio of subsidence claims from initial instruction through to settlement, with the opportunity to handle a varied caseload including technically challenging and complex losses.
As a Subsidence Adjuster, you will have real ownership of your claims, from attending site and investigating movement and damage through to reviewing technical reports, working with engineers and contractors, agreeing appropriate remedial solutions and providing recommendations to insurers.

- Assessing structural damage and considering the potential impact on buildings, contents and associated losses.
- Reviewing reports from engineers, structural specialists, surveyors and other appointed experts.
- Appointing and managing engineers, contractors, surveyors and other specialists throughout the claim.
- Agreeing appropriate scopes of work and reviewing repair estimates and proposed remedial solutions.
- Monitoring investigations, movement monitoring and remedial works where required.
- Producing detailed reports for insurer and delegated authority clients, including recommendations on liability, quantum, reserves and claims strategy.
- Setting and reviewing reserves throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
- Liaising with policyholders, brokers, insurers, contractors and technical specialists throughout the claim.
- Identifying potential recovery, contribution, subrogation and fraud concerns.
- Negotiating quantum and settlement within delegated authority.
- Managing claims proactively and ensuring they progress within agreed service levels and timescales.
Experience
- Previous loss adjusting experience, with a strong background in subsidence claims.
- Experience handling domestic property claims, with commercial property experience advantageous.
- Good understanding of subsidence, property damage, policy wordings, indemnity, liability and quantum.
- Experience interpreting technical reports and working with engineers, surveyors and other specialists.
- Comfortable managing a caseload independently and taking ownership from instruction through to settlement.
- Confident attending site and dealing directly with policyholders, insurers, contractors and appointed experts.
- Strong communication and report writing skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to different audiences.
- Higher value or technically complex subsidence experience would be particularly relevant for more senior appointments.
- Chartered Insurance Institute and/or Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters qualifications are advantageous, with further qualification support available.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the allocated geographical area.
Career Development & Package
This role offers experienced Subsidence Adjusters the opportunity to further develop their technical expertise while managing a specialist caseload with a high level of autonomy.

There are clear opportunities to progress into Senior Loss Adjusting and develop further into specialist areas such as Major and Complex Loss, Commercial Property and High Net Worth.
For those who want to remain technically focused, there is also scope to increase your involvement in higher value and more complex losses as your experience develops, alongside opportunities to move into technical specialist or management positions.
Alongside a competitive remuneration package, the business also supports ongoing professional development, with qualification support available for those looking to progress their CII or CILA qualifications.
The role also offers flexibility around how you manage your diary, site visits and caseload, with the geographical patch tailored around your location and experience.
