  • Provide technical advice and support to loss adjusters, claims handlers, insurers and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
  • Review relevant policy information and provide technical input to help ensure claims are dealt with in line with the policy terms and conditions.
  • Investigate the cause and circumstances of property damage, liaising with policyholders, property owners, contractors and other relevant parties as required.
  • Review repair costs, invoices and contractor proposals to ensure works and costs are reasonable and appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, investigations and claim-related information.
  • Provide clear and professional guidance to policyholders, helping them understand the claims process and addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure claims are managed efficiently and technical issues are resolved promptly.

About You:

We’re looking for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor with a strong technical background and, ideally, some experience within the insurance or loss adjusting sector. We’re looking for someone who is confident assessing property damage, carrying out inspections, preparing reports and costs, and providing clear, practical technical advice. The role also requires someone who is comfortable dealing with a range of people, from insurers and loss adjusters to contractors and policyholders, and who can communicate confidently and professionally throughout the claims process.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Professional certifications, such as MRICS
  • Strong knowledge of property surveying techniques, building materials, and construction practices.
  • Experienced in surveying both domestic and commercial properties.
  • Experienced in interpreting insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling processes.
