As a High Net Worth / Private Clients Loss Adjuster, you will be responsible for managing and assessing insurance claims for high net worth individuals and private clients. This includes complex and high-value property claims, ensuring fair, accurate, and timely settlement outcomes. You will work closely with clients, insurers, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing a high level of technical expertise and customer service throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Handling & Assessment
- Manage and assess high-value insurance claims including property damage, liability, and other insured perils
- Ensure accurate evaluation of policy cover and claim validity
- Investigation & Reporting
- Carry out detailed investigations into the cause and extent of loss
- Gather evidence including photographs, statements, estimates, and supporting documentation
- Prepare clear, detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the claims process
- Communicate clearly and professionally with policyholders, insurers, contractors, and third parties
- Provide guidance and reassurance throughout the lifecycle of the claim
- Negotiation & Settlement
- Negotiate effectively with insurers, suppliers, and contractors
- Ensure fair and appropriate settlement of claims in line with policy terms
- Drive timely resolution of claims
- Technical & Compliance
- Interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and limitations
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal procedures
- Identify risk exposures and provide loss prevention recommendations where appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, business, or similar (desirable)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in loss adjusting or property claims handling (domestic and commercial)
- Experience within High Net Worth / Private Client claims is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and policy wording
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Cert CII and/or Cert CILA minimum (Dip CILA preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases
- Confident using claims management systems and IT tools
- Full UK driving licence (clean)
