The aim of KingdomWay Compassion is to see the lives of those who are struggling improved, not just through meeting their immediate needs but by creating pathways to independence. We want to bring hope in desperate situations, helping people to overcome the underlying issues contributing to their situation.

This isn’t just a job. It’s an invitation to be part of a community that loves God, loves our neighbours, and makes disciples – a church family pursuing the ways of the Kingdom in a real, relational, and faithful way.

The Compassion Pastor will be responsible for the leadership, coordination, and delivery of most of our KingdomWay Compassion ministries (excluding our wellbeing services which are overseen by the Co‑Lead Pastor). Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Oversight
    • Overseeing the delivery and development of compassion ministries

    • Using web‑based applications essential to the operation of the charity
    • Preparing reports for internal and external purposes
    • Preparing fundraising applications and grant reports
    • Sourcing corporate and individual donors

In addition to these responsibilities, the Compassion Pastor will be expected to attend staff meetings and to contribute to wider church life, participating in Sunday gatherings and small groups on a weekly basis. The Compassion Pastor will also be required to undertake such other tasks as may be reasonably required in connection with their role and will report to the Lead Pastor as their line manager.

Requirements

  • A successful PVG check

  • Hold a Level 3 Food Hygiene and Safety in Retail Certificate (or willing to complete such training)
  • IT literate, to an extent that they should be comfortable learning to use the web‑based applications which are key to the operation of the charity
  • Good organisational and logistical skills

As this is a pastoral role within a Christian church, the post‑holder must be a practising Christian. This requirement is an Occupational Requirement permitted under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. In addition to a successful interview with the church, the successful candidate will also need to have a second interview with CAP prior to the offer of any role. A copy of CAP’s own criteria for suitable candidates is available on request.
