About the role
We're looking for a Product Manager to own key customer-facing outcomes, starting with pension transfers, contributions and other critical flows that drive LTV and help our customers save with confidence. You'll be responsible for the full product lifecycle in your area, from identifying and framing problems, to shaping the roadmap, leading discovery, managing delivery and iterating post-launch to deliver outcomes for our customers and our business. You'll have strong support from the Head of Product and peers across the team, and you'll play a vital role in helping us scale both our product and how we work as we grow.
You will:
- Own critical customer-facing outcomes, flows and be responsible for key results.
- Set the pace; we're a start-up and have a serious bias for action.
- Lead continuous discovery.
- Define success metrics, ask sharp data questions and analyse results to surface opportunities.
- Run generative research to deeply understand our customers and inform product direction.
- Frame and map opportunities to guide prioritisation and trade-offs.
- Break down initiatives into smaller bets to accelerate learning and time-to-value.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Ops, Sales and other teams to ensure smooth delivery and alignment.
- Be accountable for predictable delivery and ongoing iteration in your area.
About you
You will have:
- Demonstrable experience discovering and delivering successful products with measurable impact.
- Confidence in using data independently to inform a broad range of decisions.
- A deeply customer centric mindset.
- Experience working in highly autonomous, accountable, cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with a continuous product discovery approach and outcome-focused development.
- A strong ability to use feedback loops and success metrics to guide learning and iteration.
- Clear, structured written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
- A genuine interest in helping people save more for later life.
Ideally you have previous experience...
- Working on B2C or B2B2C apps with tens or hundreds of thousands of users.
- In fintech or a highly regulated industry.
- Navigating complex operational workflows.
- In start-ups or scale-ups, especially during periods of fast growth.
You do not need to meet all of the above criteria in order to apply! If you've read this far and are excited about the opportunity, but are missing some of the experiences we've listed, we strongly encourage you to apply regardless.
Our application process
We'll have a 45 minute introductory call to properly introduce you to Penfold, find out more about your experience so far and career aspirations, and make sure you get a chance to ask any questions you might have. The next stage would be a 90 minute exercise/task which is done over a video call at a time that suits you. Finally, we'll organise some sessions with some team members from inside and outside Product & Engineering for a few conversations about how we work together and what to expect day-to-day. You'll also have the opportunity to ask them questions directly.
For more info, feel free to reach out to George Cleal, our Head of Product. We are 100% committed to building a diverse and representative team. Whatever your race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability - we want to hear from you. If you have questions about the role, the company, or the interview process, please let us know and we'll be happy to answer.
