The role

As a Part-Time Accountant (2 days) you'll be focused on the finance aspect but may also work across different areas of the business as needs arise (Ops, Payroll, HR, Legal). Working with our Head of Finance & Operations, you'll help translate the company vision into the operating model and rhythm of the business. We're looking for a fast, constant learner with a proactive, positive attitude to help our business navigate the operational challenges we will encounter on our journey to becoming a world-class SAAS company. You will need to be a thinker, learner and a doer to be successful in this role. You'll be a critical part of the team, instrumental in driving change, and a huge part of the culture we're building.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage the accounts payable (AP) process and ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Assist with invoice chasing and the renewals process
  • Record accruals and prepayments
  • Cash management
  • Process company expenses and receipt collection
  • Review VAT returns
  • Liaising with external bookkeepers and month-end processes
  • Assist with other finance items as required
  • Company inventory management and purchasing
  • Support the Head of Finance & Ops with risk management / compliance, external audits, security questionnaires etc. when required
  • Assisting departments with recruiting, and employee onboarding / offboarding
  • Office management and purchasing, assist with planning and execution of internal company events / socials etc.

Requirements

The must-haves:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or significant experience in a finance or similar role
  • Understanding of accruals and prepayments is essential
  • Experience managing AP processes
  • Xero experience is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Shows initiative and team player, with a hard-working attitude
  • High level of personal integrity, trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Learning quickly (and getting up to speed on new items)
  • Working in Start-up/SaaS companies
