  • Accelerate Nature Recovery with Ecosulis

Are you a passionate commercial and ecological professional eager to make a tangible impact on ecosystem recovery?

Do you want to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to rewilding half the planet by 2050?

If so, we invite you to join Ecosulis as our new BNG Sales & Innovation Lead.

About Ecosulis

At Ecosulis, we are pioneers in rewilding science and policy with over 30 years of experience.

As a certified B Corp, we specialise in designing and delivering efficient, scalable nature-based solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Our mission is to create a world where rewilding not only enhances biodiversity but also delivers commercial and financial benefits, allowing nature and business to thrive together.

About the Role

As our BNG Sales & Innovation Lead at Ecosulis, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between high-value nature recovery and cutting-edge ecological technology.

Reporting directly to the Head of Business Growth, you will hold dual responsibility: driving the commercial success of our Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) pipeline and managing our Innovation Team.

You will ensure that our technological tools — such as our client portal and GIS mapping systems — are not just "features," but powerful sales drivers that provide a distinct competitive advantage in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial & Sales Leadership
  • Corporate BNG Sales: Lead the sale of high-integrity BNG units to corporate developers and infrastructure providers.
  • Landowner 'Sell-In': Working closely with the Project Developer team, secure the supply side by pitching and closing strategic landowner packages, ensuring landowners are committed to the long-term requirements of nature recovery and BNG.
  • National Grid Framework: Oversee the strategic delivery of the National Grid framework, maintaining our status as a Tier 1 partner.
  • Strategic Matchmaking: Collaborate with Credit Nature and the Project Developer team to find bespoke buyers for flagship sites, blending BNG with wider natural capital outcomes.
  • Innovation & Team Management

You will act as the line manager for our standalone Innovation Team (2 FTE), providing the bridge between technical development and commercial application:

  • Market-Led

Development: Feed real-time market trends and client feedback into the Innovation Team to ensure our products — such as the Client Portal and BNG GIS Mapping Tool — meet the exact needs of buyers and landowners.

  • AI & Technical

Advancement: Support the team in delivering AI tools and apps that streamline internal capacities and external reporting, keeping Ecosulis at the cutting edge of technical development.

  • Strategic

Alignment: Ensure the team's output remains aligned with the Innovation Strategy set by the Head of Business Growth, helping prioritise high-impact services and tools that set us apart from competitors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years in a commercial role within Natural Capital, Land Agency, or Ecology.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in line management, with the ability to guide technical staff (developers/GIS specialists) toward commercial goals.
  • Technical Literacy: An understanding of how digital tools (GIS, Portals, Data) create value for BNG clients.
  • Deal-Making: Expert at negotiating complex, long-term legal and financial agreements (S106, Conservation Covenants).
  • Education: Degree in Environmental Science, Land Management, or Business. Professional accreditation (RICS, CIEEM, IEMA) is a plus.
  • More Information
  • Job type: Permanent
  • Start date: To be confirmed
  • Salary: £45-50,000 based on experience — including performance-based bonus (landowner package bonus and unit sale commission)
  • Location: Remote, with regular weekly travel to client meetings, prospecting, site visits and events
  • Reports to: Head of Business Growth
  • Direct reports: Innovation Team (2 FTE)
  • A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle will be required for this position.
