In this role, the successful Project/Management Accountant would be responsible for organising the accounts across a range of multi-million-pound construction and refurbishment projects throughout the UK and possibly abroad.
Gaining a high level of security clearance, you will be in the midst of all the action during the global crisis and playing your part for the future of the business as well as the Ministry of Defence.
The ideal Project/Management Accountant would have a proven track record in dealing with long term project accounts as well as accounting within the construction/refurbishment/fit out industries.
Be local to Chatham and eager to work in a defence business.
The Role
- Own the production of timely and technically accurate contract accounts, EACs, budgets, forecasts and strategic plans including variance analysis for Projects and Small Works
- Maintain a close working relationship with Operations, particularly Head of Programmes, the Senior Project Managers and the Small Works Manager
- Own the production of monthly management accounts including site commentaries and present to Ho F, RSME Contract Director and Head of Programmes
- Reconcile operational data to that reflected in the accounts and on other ancillary source data systems
- Prepare customer facing balance sheet control account reconciliations and rectification actions required to resolve queries or issues
- Prepare contract specific journals
- Assist in the preparation of monthly contract review presentations identifying future opportunities and risks
