CMA is currently working with an international business in Southampton who are considered a market leader within their industry sector and are a continued growth trajectory.

The role of the Assistant Accountant is to support the UK Finance Manager in all aspects of financial accounting and financial analysis across multiple sites, providing financial input to commercial decisions of the business.

This is a really varied role which will incorporate both day to day transactional and month end responsibilities.

Please note you MUST have recent experience with Microsoft Dynamics and demonstrate a strong level of proficiency in the using this software within finance.

This is a remote role that will be home based with monthly team meetings held in Southampton or London.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

  • Assist in preparing monthly accounts to include month end journal postings and corrective journals.
  • Oversee purchase ledger ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Completing accounting entries for company credit cards, expenses and petty cash.
  • General administration support across the Finance team and any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Group Financial Controller.

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic is essential.
  • Part qualified ACCA or CIMA or AAT qualified and looking to commence with further qualifications.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, a real team player with a strong team ethos.
