We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for surveying, repair, set-up, service and providing technical support in the field to Customers, Engineers and Installers for all Grant products.

Having qualifications in OFTEC, F Gas, Unvented hot water and Part P would be highly advantageous.

Field Support Area : Post Codes LL and SY (Llandudno and Shrewsbury)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend site to carry out repair work on products covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
  • When required carry out site survey and commissioning of Grant Engineering products.
  • Promote Customer Satisfaction throughout the department/Company ensuring that all our customers receive a valued service.
  • Advise customers, installers, and commissioning engineers on product installation.
  • Dealing with Technical issues, administration and correspondence on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist in the management of your diary including providing up to date local / logistical information for your area.
  • Bringing matters of disrepute to FSM.
  • Carrying out a substantial amount of driving on a daily basis with overnight stays when required.
  • Responsible for the correct use of tools and equipment on and off site and ensure that appropriate Health and Safety guidelines are followed.
  • Provide on-site / In-house training / Assessments as requested by the company.
  • Identify Technical / Service trends and report all concerns to the FSM.
  • Identify potential sales leads (3 or more units) and pass details to relevant Area Sales Manager.
  • Encourage In-House training programmes for suspect Engineers / Installers by referring either to training Administrator or to the relevant Area Sales Manager.
  • Keep up to date with current legislation regarding Oil Fired Boilers, Air source heat pumps, Biomass, Smart controls, Solar thermal & unvented hot water and the Installation, Service and Commissioning of the appliances.
  • Keep up to date with new in-house developments and attend internal training programmes as required.
  • Ensure all Professional Qualifications are kept up to date.
  • Our Engineers cover the following disciplines, and specific training will be provided:
  • Oil boilers Solar Thermal
  • Air Source Heat Pumps Unvented cylinders
  • Biomass Smart controls

After successful completion of 2 – 4 months training you will work at least 20 Saturdays / annum either as overtime or in lieu of a weekday. Based on a 5-day working week.
