About the Role
An established industrial manufacturer and solutions provider within the flow control sector is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across the UK.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in selling engineered products preferably pumps, valves, or related flow-control equipment into industrial, OEM, and process driven environments.
This is a senior commercial position suited to someone who combines technical competence with strong commercial acumen.
Who is determined to win new business and make You will work remotely, travelling regularly to customer sites, distributors, and strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across target markets including water, power, oil & gas, chemical, pulp and paper, and general manufacturing.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry and technical discussion through to quotation, negotiation, and close.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, contractors, EPCs, and engineering partners.
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to support customer understanding of pump technologies, efficiency benefits, and system integration requirements.
- Analyse customer specifications and system requirements to propose suitable pumping and flow-control solutions.
- Provide market feedback to internal engineering, product development, and senior management teams to influence future product strategy.
- Forecast and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and market trends.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and customer-specific technical meetings.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven business development experience selling technical or engineered products.
- Background in pumps, valves, rotating equipment, flow-control systems, or closely related industrial technologies.
- Ability to engage in technical discussions, review specifications, and communicate engineering concepts to customers.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes, maintenance considerations, and system performance drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new accounts and grow existing customer relationships.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a remote role with significant travel across the UK.
- Engineering qualification is highly advantageous, though relevant experience will be strongly considered.
