We're working with a leading organisation undergoing significant digital transformation, and they're looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join their Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and evolve a modern Azure cloud environment, working with cutting-edge technologies while supporting enterprise-scale operations.
As an Azure Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and supporting scalable infrastructure solutions in Azure.
You'll work across a broad range of technologies including Saa S, Paa S, networking, identity, storage, and security.
This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to projects, embed automation and security by design, and collaborate closely with product and development teams in an Agile environment.
Key skills for the Azure Platform Engineer
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform in a Dev Ops environment.
- Drive adoption of Kubernetes (AKS) and containerised applications.
- Design and manage CI/CD workflows for infrastructure deployment.
- Implement observability and monitoring with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry.
- Champion security and compliance, embedding policies into Ia C and CI/CD processes.
- Support migrations into Azure and contribute to the platform roadmap.
- Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring colleagues and liaising with external vendors when required.
Key skills for the Azure Platform Engineer
- 3+ years' experience working as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
- 6+ years in infrastructure engineering or support roles (Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ia C in a Dev Ops setting.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker.
- Familiarity with Azure hub/spoke architecture, networking, IDAM, and security best practices.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (release, deployment, change management).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and lead when required.
