Finance Assistant (FTC) £40,000 - £45,000 Remote THE COMPANY: Our client is a mid-level broker based in the heart of the City, who are looking for a Finance Assistant that has management accounts exposure and has proven experience within the financial services industry.

THE ROLE

  • Prepare weekly reports and assist with quarterly VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, leases, fixed assets, and annual audit.
  • Oversee month-end close processes, including billing, client/project invoicing, accruals, prepayments, deferred income, and key journal postings.
  • Manage the sales ledger, debtor tracking, and contract database, ensuring records meet audit requirements.
  • Liaise with Account Managers to accurately account for fees and expenses, monitor budget spend, and support project financial tracking.
  • Maintain and improve KPIs; perform 'sense checks' and ensure compliance with audit and finance procedures.
  • Provide support across ad hoc tasks, cover for Accounts Payable when needed, and contribute to systems/process improvements.

THE PERSON

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Intermediate level user of MS Excel
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Highly organised, able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fast learner with a flexible attitude
  • Exposure to Net Suite (preferable but not essential)
