We are currently partnering with a Housing Association based in Derbyshire, who are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join their team on a 12-month temporary basis.
This is a full-time position covering maternity leave.
The role can be available as a fixed term contract or a temporary contract with a daily rate.
The daily rate/ salary will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Our client offers a 50/50 split for hybrid working, there may be some flexibility for the right candidate.
Duties will include (but are not limited to)
- Providing budget training and financial advice to Service Managers
- Managing a team of three: one junior Accountant and two transactional staff
- Conducting monthly budget monitoring meetings with Service Managers ensuring budgets are maintained
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual Council Capital Investment programme
- Preparing annual budgets and annual forecasts in partnership with Service Managers and Head of Finance
- Processing monthly accounting journals in line with IFRS, including prepayments, accruals, referred revenue, accrued revenue, payroll etc
- Preparing monthly P&L with detailed variance analysis bridging actuals against budgets/forecasts
- Supporting departments with VAT and ensuring compliance with HMRC and Partial Exemption legislation
- Producing quarterly VAT return for approval and subsequent submissions
- Analysing purchase transactions and ensuring correct treatment for Partial Exemption
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders; liaising with External Auditors
Experience required
- Experience required in Social Housing/ Local Government
- CCAB or QBE
Working hours
- 37 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (flexible starts and finishes)
