About the role

The role of the Field Sales Representative within the Customer & Commercial Team is to be the initial 'face' of Voneus, representing our brand in your area and introducing our products and services to potential customers located in rural communities, and helping build and support our customer base.

Reporting to the Head of Field Sales, you will be responsible for coordinating sales activities in your specific area to convert prospects into successful customers through a variety of sales methods, focusing mainly on door to door sales.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with key personnel, residents, and businesses within the community.
  • Support the sales funnel by gathering quality prospect data to convert to customers.
  • Cultivate new leads within your territory
  • Support the marketing team by obtaining information regarding local and county activities as well as monitoring any competitor activity.
  • Be the first point of contact with residents delivering excellent customer service and selling our products to bring new customers to Voneus.
  • Meet with prospective customers at their door to sell our product range.
  • Be able to speak with customer and quickly assimilate their requirements, needs, budget and decision making capability so that you can easily follow up with information or close a deal quickly.
  • Weekend and evening work is essential as part of this role to be able to gain traction with different demographics at different times of the day.
  • Monitor sales targets and work to meet them individually and as a team.
  • Be self-motivated to hit the agreed sales targets.
  • Understand the sales cycle and the pros and cons of different sales technique in line with Voneus company values.
  • Research and evaluate customer needs and desires.
  • Liaise with other departments including Sales, Marketing, People Team and Finance to deliver the best deals and service to the customer or prospective customer.
  • Be able to handle customer objections and negotiate whilst having the resilience to deal with rejections from customer without it impacting on your next door knock.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous experience of door-to-door sales is essential.
  • Proven track record in a field sales business to consumer environment.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques within the sales cycle and how to mitigate and overcome pushbacks.
  • Able to engage with customers from different areas, researching specific area knowledge and traits to communicate with them effectively and easily, both in verbal and written format.
  • Strong customer experience skills to build rapport and follow up with any queries in a confident customer focussed manner
  • Knowledgeable in using a CRM, such as Salesforce or Zoho.
