This is a hybrid role combining remote working with site presence in client projects.
This role is specifically for project professionals experienced in the Transmission and Distribution sector in the UK, preferably working on the developer/operator side, although experience as a principal contractor will also be considered. You will lead the delivery of engagements, serving as a sector SME, and at times lead and mentor other team members to develop their sector capabilities and knowledge. You will support the growth of our services in the sector through developing proposals, winning strategies, and building successful client relationships and strategic partnerships.
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy, focusing on:
- Understanding the real problems of projects
More specifically, you will be part of our Project Services Team, aiming to make construction projects deliver to near perfection. You will own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure that the project is working to it effectively. You may not be the project manager ultimately responsible for the results, but you are responsible for ensuring the project’s understanding and focus on the plan.
Your responsibilities include:
- Providing simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels to help them deliver their part of the project more efficiently and effectively
- Developing scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team for long-term impact
You should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in construction project management, specifically on UK transmission and distribution projects, with a good understanding of sector-specific requirements and processes. You should be able to deliver and lead others in providing cutting-edge planning and project controls services in the construction industry, powered by the latest digital tools and technologies.
Key qualifications include:
- Good understanding of project delivery requirements from inception to closeout
- Able to develop project execution plans and programmes appropriate to project maturity/stage gate
- Ability to navigate complex project environments and operate with minimal guidance to achieve results and top-quality deliverables
- Experience in developing comprehensive project strategies for transmission projects, encompassing scheduling, risk management, and cost control
- Ability to work directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
- Construction engineering background with proven impact in planning and delivering projects
- Proficient communicator in written and verbal English
- Decent Excel skills and a strong interest in data, with experience in project planning
- A track record of implementing scalable and repeatable solutions in projects and organisations
Competitive salary dependent on location and capability, plus paid annual leave of 25 days + statutory.
