The role
Group Reporting Accountant will report into the Group Finance Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the consolidated and subsidiary numbers are robust and align with internal accounting policy and UK GAAP.
The role is initially offered on a fixed-term basis for 6 months.
There may be an opportunity for the position to become permanent, subject to performance and business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and analysis of the Group Consolidation (UK GAAP) and sub-groups as applicable
- Own the accounting policy framework and ensure consistency within the Group
- Technical accounting for e. g. share-based payments, financial instruments, leases and business combinations
- Monthly accounting for holding companies and cashflow reports
- Preparation of the financial statements in full compliance with IFRS/FRS 102, including the oversight of foreign subsidiaries' reporting
- Year-end planning, preparation of audit requests and annual position papers and impairment reviews
- Management of the external audit process for the Group
- Prepare the financial reporting aspects of any acquisition integrations including fair value adjustments, goodwill calculation and consolidation of acquired balances
- Ensure the subsidiaries report figures per Group accounting policy
- Ensure statutory compliance for all subsidiaries
- Adopt a continuous improvement approach and work with stakeholders to develop streamlined, high quality and efficient processes
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with 2-5 years PQE
- Audit background preferred
- Experience with Netsuite and reporting solutions (e. g. IRIS) advantageous
- Experience with complex Groups, with multi-national and multi-currency advantageous
- High attention to detail is vital as is good numerical skills and accuracy
- Strong self-management and motivational skills to learn and deliver on key responsibilities
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively across different teams
- Good communication skills, ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
- Willingness to learn and develop as the company grows
