The Regional Account Manager is responsible for the commercial relationship between Biffa and its major clients in Scotland.

The role will cover growth and development of the portfolio of customers, financially and sustainably, contractual negotiations, meeting the relevant KPI's and SLA's, compliance, customer satisfaction and retention and adherence to health & safety.

  • Ensure all portfolios have account plans set up for the year, achievement objectives are set around growth, development, profitability, sustainability, contract compliance and pricing negotiations.
  • Retention of Major clients, through positive relationships, reliability of service provision to ensure the achievement of budgeted profit, and volume growth for the year.
  • Lead all Tender processes and facilitate professional and timely responses in conjunction with the Bid Management team.
  • Identify new development opportunities to deliver profitable growth whilst supporting customers in exploring opportunities to reuse and reduce waste.
  • Conduct regular customer review meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present monthly reporting information to customers using Power BI.
  • Conduct regular site and waste audits to make improvements to support customer sustainability objectives and targets.
  • Support customers with staff training in waste management behaviours to make sustainability improvements.
  • Prepare and negotiate contractual agreements with customers.
  • Assist local depots and customer service teams to resolve customer issues around collection services, health and safety, container changes or the introduction of alternative services.
  • Ensure customer debt position is maintained in line with contractual commitments consulting regularly with the Credit Control team.
  • Our essential requirements
  • 3 years' experience maintaining and developing customer relationships.
  • Confident using business software and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Power Point
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Strong financial awareness with an understanding of customer profit modelling and internal P&L analysis
  • Charismatic and confident with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
