An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, professional, and proactive Housekeeper / Household Assistant to join a prestigious private family residence.

Working as part of an established household team and reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the residence. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring exceptional housekeeping standards, flexibility, discretion, and a genuine willingness to support all aspects of household operations.

This position would suit an individual with previous experience within a private household, luxury hospitality environment, yacht, or similar high-end service setting.

Flexibility

\n

Flexibility is a key requirement of this position. While a regular working schedule will be in place, the successful candidate will be expected to provide additional support during busy periods, including weekends, Bank Holidays, Easter, Christmas, New Year, and other family holiday periods when required.

\n

The role is likely to involve more than occasional weekend working, and the successful candidate must be adaptable and willing to assist the household as needed. Notice will be provided wherever possible.

Housekeeping Duties

• Maintaining the residence to exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
\n
• Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, tidying, organising, and room preparation.
\n
• Professional laundering, garment care, and wardrobe organisation.
\n
• Ironing to a very high standard, including delicate and luxury fabrics.
\n
• Bed making, linen changes, and towel management.
\n
• Managing laundry cycles, dry cleaning arrangements, and specialist clothing care.
\n
• Ensuring household supplies are well stocked and organised.
\n
• Assisting with seasonal deep cleaning and household organisation projects.

Household Support Duties

• Greeting family members and guests in a warm and professional manner.
\n
• Assisting with table setting and light food and beverage service.
\n
• Preparing guest rooms and household areas for arrivals and departures.
\n
• Running errands and assisting with household administration when required.
\n
• Anticipating household needs and taking initiative without constant supervision.
\n
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the residence.
\n
• Maintaining absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Kitchen & Food Preparation Support

• Assisting with meal preparation when required.
\n
• Supporting the preparation and serving of family meals.
\n
• Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and organisation throughout kitchen areas.

• Assisting with washing up, clearing, and kitchen housekeeping duties.
\n
• Monitoring food supplies and household essentials.
\n
• Undertaking food shopping and household purchasing as required.
\n
• Supporting the household team during entertaining and family events.

Chauffeur & Transport Support

• Conducting airport transfers and local driving duties for family members and guests.
\n
• Ensuring household vehicles are clean, presentable, fuelled, and maintained.

• Assisting with luggage and arrivals/departures.
\n
• Planning routes effectively and ensuring punctuality.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

• Previous experience within a private household, luxury hotel, yacht, or similar high-end service environment.
\n
• Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and garment care skills.
\n
• Professional ironing experience with exceptional attention to detail.
\n
• A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.
\n
• High standards of personal presentation and professionalism.
\n
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
\n
• The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
\n
• A calm, discreet, and trustworthy manner.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and a service-focused approach.

• The ability to work independently and use initiative.

• A full clean driving licence.
