GR Employment Ltd is recruiting for a Class 1 Driver on behalf of one of our customers in Slough, Colnbrook. You will be a frontline representative of the company, responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of secure shipments to and from our Service Centre and Hub facilities. The post holder is directly responsible for enhancing the customer experience at every stage through a conscientious and dedicated approach to tasks. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure.
Shift Pattern and Pay
- Monday to Saturday with start time between 02:00 AM - 06:00 AM.
- Hourly Rate: £19.00 per hour.
- Shift Premium: Extra £2.71 per hour after 7.00 pm.
- Saturday Premium: Extra £1.18 per hour.
- Sunday Premium: Extra £2.20 per hour.
- Overtime is paid after 45 hours at time and a half.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely driving and operating an LGV to deliver and collect secure shipments.
- Planning and managing your daily routes to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Ensuring the security of shipments and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Job Qualifications
- Hold a valid Class 1 Driving Licence, Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Ideally, have 6 months of recent driving experience.
- Excellent organizational and route-planning skills.
- Flexibility to handle varying workloads and operational peaks.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional routes.
- Commitment to working safely within the EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations.
- For insurance purposes, you must be at least 21 years old and have no more than 9 penalty points on your driving licence within the last 3 years.
