Courier Driver

GR Employment Ltd is looking for a Courier Driver on behalf of one of our clients in Southampton, SO50 6NZ.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily delivery and collection of shipments to and from customers. This role is essential in upholding the company’s values and ethos, delivering service with speed, passion, and a can-do attitude.

You will be expected to provide excellent customer service, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure.

This is multi drop, 40 to 60 stops daily, delivery only.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – 10 AM – 8 PM (one hour unpaid break)

Hourly Rate: £14.25 per hour. Shift Premium: Extra £2.71 per hour after 7.00 pm. Saturday Premium: Extra £1.18 per hour. Sunday Premium: Extra £2.20 per hour.

This is a temporary position, however, for the right candidate, this role could lead to a permanent placement.

Responsibilities

• Measured by customer satisfaction and the complete delivery of definite deliveries and collections.
• Act as a frontline representative for the company, completing all tasks in a customer-focused manner.
• Demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills to prioritise work to meet customers’ requirements.
• Work on an assigned geographical route; however, be prepared to change route to meet business needs.
• Scan and work quickly and efficiently to meet warehouse deadlines, make good decisions, and work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in a multi-drop courier role.
• Security Training will be provided when required.
• For insurance purposes, you must be at least 21 years old and have no more than 9 penalty points on your driving licence within the last 3 years.

Security Checks

As this role is based within a major UK airport, all applicants will be required to complete pre-employment screening in accordance with aviation security regulations. This process will include:

• A 5-year employment/education history verification.
• A UK criminal record check.
