Operations Agent – Basildon, St Hilary's Retail Park

GR Employment Ltd is currently recruiting for an Operations Agent on behalf of one of our valued customers based at their Basildon, St Hilary's Retail Park area.

As an Operations Agent, you will play a key role in ensuring that day‑to‑day customer activities within the Service Centre are completed to the highest standards. You’ll provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and will often act as the first point of contact for frontline queries.

This is a varied and fast‑paced role requiring attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a strong customer focus. At times, you will also act as the Service Centre Receptionist, welcoming and assisting visitors in a professional and friendly manner.

Shift Availability

  • Monday to Friday: 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 7 AM to 3:30 PM

30 minutes unpaid break.

Pay & Premiums

Hourly Rate: £13.01 per hour.

  • Shift Premium: Extra £2.71 per hour after 7.00 pm
  • Saturday Premium: Extra £1.18 per hour
  • Sunday Premium: Extra £2.20 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational tasks, answer all calls to the Service Centre.
  • Respond to all queries in accordance with company standards.
  • Deal with all internal and external customers professionally, visiting the Service Centre.
  • Manage day‑to‑day workload and seek support when required.
  • Use computer systems with numerous applications to ensure work is completed in accordance with company requirements.
  • Act as the Service Centre receptionist when necessary.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Security training will be given when required.

Security checks: As this role is based within a major UK airport, all applicants will be required to complete pre‑employment screening in accordance with aviation security regulations. This process will include 5‑year employment/education history verification and a UK criminal record check.
