Overview
The client requires a Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) who will report directly to the senior Chartered Engineering manager and work with Building Services and CAD engineers.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, survey existing installations, and design HVAC systems.
- Design HVAC systems for both new and existing projects.
- Create ventilation ductwork systems and CHW & LTHW systems, perform head load and cooling load calculations, conduct onsite visits, hold meetings and communicate with clients, architects and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with electrical counterparts.
- Take the Mechanical HVAC engineering lead for a number of projects, as technical knowledge improves.
- Carry out value engineering.
- Revit experience is desirable but not imperative.
Qualifications
- A demonstrable knowledge of Mechanical Building Services design obtained through experience with a Mechanical HVAC contractor or Building Services consultancy environment.
- Mechanical Engineering qualifications from HNC level related to Building Services.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short time scales.
