Overview
This Design Engineer role will be responsible for all design activity on projects and small works covering systems designed to BS9251, BSEN12845 including TB\’s and incorporating all industry membership guidance, Health & Safety requirements and will be a key role within the business offering technical support on Sales, Operations, Service and business accreditations.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Manages the delivery of all design, technical aspects of projects & small works.
- Over sees the design and compliance process from point of sale to completion.
- Serves as the internal link within the company and will have direct contact with all internal departments to offer technical support.
- Attends Project Design Meetings at the business or customer site. Leads and represents the business at kick off meetings as required by the customer.
- Leads and facilitates customer teleconferences, visits and audits as required, and provides timely provision of customer reports and updates.
- Interacts with accreditation bodies such as IFC & LPC is beneficial but not essential.
- Responsible for all design related compliance audits both internally and externally and will advise the business of risks associated with non-compliance timely.
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
- Creates, delivers and completes all design drawings as required and when required by the businesses obligations to its customers
- Provide advice to the board of directors on any non compliance issues, design workload issues and industry related design updates that may impact the business on any of its current and future projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- More than five years experience within the industry
- Basic Design LPC/BS Qualification
- Strong understanding of all relevant sprinkler standards such as LPC 9 (beneficial but not essential) , BS and FM rules/guidance
- Full understanding of health and safety management and lead a strong health and safety culture.
- Comprehensive Industry knowledge
- Strong management/leadership skills & strong customer facing skills
- Strong written and verbal communication / self-motivated
- Creative problem solving
- Personality – Energy, Drive and Enthusiasm
- Flexible with working hours and ability to work away from home when required
- Full UK Driving Licence
