GPW Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Calibration Engineer to join a leading calibration and measurement specialist based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Calibration Engineer, Metrology Engineer, Calibration Technician, or Measurement Engineer looking to join a well-established organisation operating within a UKAS-accredited environment.

Working within a professional laboratory setting, you will be responsible for the calibration of precision measuring equipment while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, UKAS requirements, and recognised industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibrate Force, Torque, and Dimensional measuring equipment to traceable and accredited standards.
  • Produce accurate calibration certificates and maintain detailed records.
  • Support UKAS surveillance and accreditation audits.
  • Conduct internal laboratory audits and cross-comparison activities.
  • Develop and review calibration procedures.
  • Calculate and maintain measurement uncertainty budgets.
  • Assist with the maintenance and verification of laboratory standards.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and customers where required.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company procedures.
About You
  • Previous experience within a calibration, metrology, testing, or laboratory environment.
  • A good understanding of calibration principles and measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
  • Experience calculating measurement uncertainty.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Desirable
  • HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience calibrating force, torque, or dimensional equipment.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Experience working within a UKAS-accredited laboratory.
