This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector to join a busy manufacturing environment on a permanent basis. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to a consistently high standard and that customer expectations are exceeded. Working closely with the Quality Manager, production and customer service teams, you will help maintain robust quality standards and drive continuous improvement in processes and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check quality control sheets on all pallets, ensuring department signatures, job details and panel information are accurate and consistent.
- Organise replacement products to be manufactured when required to fulfil order requirements.
- Carry out random quality checks at all stages of production.
- Assist in updating the CRM system with customer information and outcomes.
- Visit customer sites to assess where required.
- Ensure customer samples, prototypes and first-time jobs meet or exceed required quality standards.
- Order replacement material in a timely manner to meet production and customer needs.
- Take responsibility for decision-making regarding acceptable quality standards and working within agreed tolerances.
- Liaise with Customer Service to ensure clear and prompt communication of relevant details to customers.
- Liaise directly with customers to keep them updated on progress and timescales.
- Identify and communicate process improvements to reduce non-conformances and increase quality standards.
- Be flexible with working hours when needed to visit customers or suppliers, including occasional overnight stays for longer journeys.
Required Skills:
- Essential understanding of the principles of ISO 9001:2008 quality management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a drive for high quality and accuracy.
- Basic health and safety knowledge.
- Environmental awareness relating to rework, waste and the disposal of non-conforming product.
- Confident keyboard skills and basic competence using Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments on quality issues.
