GPW Recruitment are working with an established, specialist manufacturer in Knowsley to recruit a Purchasing Assistant on a 3 month rolling contract, with a potential of the role becoming permanent
The salary on offer is Β£24,000 pa – Β£26,000 pa for a 37.5 hr working week, standard hours are 09:00 β 17:00 with 30 minutes lunch.
Duties and responsibilities as the Purchasing Assistant include:
* To assist the Purchasing Manager in all aspects of purchasing
* To liaise with and negotiate with suppliers on a UK and European basis
* Raising POβs β daily (mainly Indirect categories at first)
* Expediting deliveries – daily
* Chasing overdue deliveries – daily
* Indirect purchasing β update/issue POβs – daily
* Checking order acknowledgements and attach in ERP
* Updating Purchasing master spreadsheet β price updates
* Updating Raw material STD costs β weekly
* Updating other STD costs β as and when required
* Any other standard admin duties β electronic filing etc
Key desirable skills for the role of Purchasing Administrator include:
* ERP System experience
* Experience of raising orders
* Expediting deliveries i.e. being able to negotiate the best dates
* Customer service skills
* Chasing suppliers
* Procurement experience; interested in pursuing a career in procurement or undergoing a CIPS qualification at some stage
The team structure includes an experienced Manager and another Purchasing Assistant so there is a lot of knowledge in the team, this is a great opportunity for somebody who is keen to learn or progress a career in Purchasing.
