The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bench Hand Joiner to join a busy and well-established workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled craftsperson who takes pride in producing high-quality bespoke joinery products and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working from detailed technical drawings, you will be responsible for manufacturing a range of bespoke timber products to exact specifications, ensuring exceptional standards of workmanship throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke joinery items including doors, windows, staircases, cabinets, furniture, and other timber products.
- Read and interpret detailed CAD drawings, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber components accurately.
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Select and prepare suitable materials for each project.
- Carry out laminating, assembly, and finishing work to a high standard.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet customer and company specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Bench Hand Joiner or within a similar joinery workshop environment.
- Strong ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Experience working with hardwoods, laminates, veneers, and modern joinery techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Competent in the use of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Good understanding of timber types, adhesives, and manufacturing processes.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Bench Joinery or a completed apprenticeship would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
