Salary: £46,587.88 basic pay per annum (inclusive of 35% holiday bonus) plus 33 days holiday per year (25 vacation and 8 bank holidays)

Role

You will work alongside the Plant IT team and the IT Innovation team to support Halewood's transformation by developing and maintaining new IT tools, and helping the plant adopt proven IT solutions from other plants. You will support the existing global standard tools such as eFPS (electronic Ford Production System), working with FPS (Ford Production System) teams and Global IT teams. You will also have the opportunity to develop bespoke solutions that address Halewood specific pain points and share these projects with the wider European Digitalisation network where other plants can be inspired, replicate and give feedback on your project. Your role will be vital to ensure governance in the digital processes, adhering to change management and security protocols.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 7:00‑15:30 and Friday 7:00‑12:30

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Technical Literacy: Understanding how Digitalisation applies to manufacturing; comfortable discussing data architectures as well as mechanical assembly lines
  • Software Literacy: Proficient in data pipelines for cloud computing, database understanding, Node‑RED, and prompt engineering
  • Experience: Manufacturing operations, specifically implementing digital transformation or Industry 4.0 initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a role model for Ford+ behaviours, championing a Zero Accident culture and fostering a strong Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ethos within all your endeavours
  • Maintain and deploy system updates associated with FPS, including eFPS, IIOT, DWT wrapper, DCC, PCC, BCC dashboard
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with long‑term business goals, focusing on efficiency and waste reduction
  • Integrate predictive analytics into the production line in collaboration with the Data Science and AI team
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure the success of digital initiatives and ensure digital investments translate into tangible improvements
  • Serve as the primary link between the IT department, the data science team, and plant‑floor operators to ensure technical solutions are practical and impactful
  • Create a catalogue and governance around digital tools, and manage change control procedures
  • Act as Halewood’s SPOC for digitalisation, representing Halewood in the European forum and participating in cross‑plant knowledge sharing
  • Proactively seek new solutions, pilot them, and communicate business cases clearly; explore external events and bring technology representatives to Halewood
  • Assist the Plant IT team with operational responsibilities when workload permits
  • Travel may be required to attend innovation workshops with the Alliance
