GPW are working with an established, successful and growing Dust & Fume Extraction (LEV – Local Exhaust Ventilation) company based in Lowton near Warrington. They operate throughout the UK & Ireland in many sectors from blue chip companies, major car dealerships, schools, colleges, military and police.
The Project Engineer will be part of a team responsible for delivering projects on time and to the required quality, acting as the main mechanism between the sales team and a completed project.
The Project Engineer is expected to successfully meet or exceed the following targets:
- Management and delivery of high-quality installation projects of all sizes.
- Achieve project completion in the quoted timescales.
- Ensuring gross margins are maintained or improved on all projects via competitively sourcing of goods.
- Maintaining high levels of client interaction and satisfaction and building positive relations with our regular clients.
- Contribute to the overall success of the business.
- Communicate in a friendly and professional manner with the installation teams to achieve a ‘team’ environment where inspiration and firm management go hand in hand.
Dimensions:
Working with the projects team and sales team to deliver projects to set targets both internally and by clients. Managing the installation team’s workloads and performance ranging from 8 – 10 employees in teams of 2.
Main duties and responsibilities as the Project Engineer:
- Develop the most efficient working practices or ensure the maximising of the existing systems to achieve a streamlining of company systems.
- Ensure all works are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Professionally facilitate communication across all levels of the business.
- Build strong relationships with clients and communicate via email and telephone to ensure continuing success of current and future projects.
- Attend client meetings and represent the organisation at project meetings or pre-start meetings in a professional and competent manner.
- Effective time and man management of yourself and your workload to ensure that tasks are speedily dealt with to completion.
- Responsibility to ensure all company and legal Health and Safety requirements are met.
- Ensure all installation team staff adhere to company policies and procedures and advise accordingly of any incidents.
- Comply with policies and procedures as stated within employee handbooks.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and gain any qualifications identified as pertinent to the future success of the company.
- Contribute to the strategic future planning of the business to maintain growth and success.
- Work effectively with other departments to create the most efficient working practices for the business.
- Contribute to and develop appropriate policies and procedures.
- Complete any required audits in line with client and company requirements.
Essential Criteria as the Project Engineer:
- Full clean driving licence.
- First-hand experience of a basic range of skills within a duct installation or Mechanical & Electrical type project environment.
- Dedicated, hard-working with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Very good communicator across a wide range of individuals, including the proven ability to liaise with clients, main contractor representatives, installation teams and other trades that impact on the successful completion of our projects.
- Essential professional communication skills via email and telephone.
- Able to motivate installation teams.
- Sound written and numeracy skills.
- Basic IT skills, including email, Word, Excel, Sage accounts (or similar).
Desirable:
- Use of CAD software.
- Commercial and/or construction industry experience.
- Degree in relevant field or discipline.
- Health & Safety experience/qualification/training.
- P600, P601 or P602 qualification.
- Finance experience.
