Instrumentation Calibration Technician / Engineer with experience of calibrating electrical / temperature / pressure measuring instrumentation is required for a permanent position in the West Glasgow / Renfrewshire area. The Instrument Calibration Engineer will be working 37 hours, Monday to Friday days. Competitive salary (DoE), occasional O/T + excellent benefits see below. Package: * Competitive salary (DoE) * Approx. 37.5 hours/week (Mon – Fri 7:30am – 3:30pm) – Possible flexibility. * 25 Days holiday + B/Hols, plus option to buy / sell holidays * Company Pension + life assurance * Sick Pay after qualifying period * Employee perks package * Medicash Health Plan * Cycle to work scheme * Continuous Development & ongoing training * Occasional overtime The successful Instrument Calibration Engineer day to day duties will include: * To calibrate electronic / electrical measuring instruments such as pyrometry / temperature / heat / thermocouple / thermowells measuring instrumentation to NADCAP / AMS2750D requirements. * Carry out pressure, flow and vibration calibrations * Documenting and inputting data / results onto computer and producing quality written documents. * If qualified / experienced, use first principles measurement techniques.and operate Calypso controlled Carl Zeiss CMM’s to calibrate / measure jigs & fixtures (simple to complex) * To follow company H&S guidelines. To be suitable for this Instrumentation Calibration Engineer role you must have the following experience: * Preferably have previous experience as an Instrument calibration engineer / technician. * Previous experience of calibrating Temperature / Heat / Pyrometry, Thermowells, Thermocouples, Pressure and electrical. * Ideally will have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship or be time served. * Must be PC literate in MS Word and Excel * Must have good interpersonal communication skills and be able to work with the minimum of supervision The ideal Instrument Calibration Engineer will have the following experience / skills: * Ideally will have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship and or hold an equivalent engineering / technical qualification such as degree, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above. * Proven customer facing experience. * Experience of using Eurotherm (advanced instrumentation equipment) * Calibrating of furnace plant / electronic measuring equipment to NADCAP / AMS2750D requirements. * Heat treatment plant calibration / TUS / SAT tests / using thermocouples / electronic measuring equipment. * Test rig, flow, pressure, temperature and vibration calibration experience ot traceable or UKAS standards. * Understanding of metrology / first principle measurement techniques to measure jigs / fixtures etc. * Operating / Programming Calypso controlled Carl Zeiss CMM to measure / calibrate parts.(desirable) * Knowledge of importing / exporting from Excel databases and report generation from databases. * Experience within the Aerospace, Automotive or Manufacturing sectors Key Words: Instrument Calibration Engineer, Pyrometry, Calibration Technician, Temperature, Calibrate, Humidity, Metrology, Thermocouple, PRT’s, Test Verification, Thermowells, Test & Measurement Instrumentation, Calibrating, Metrology, Dimensional, Mechanical Calibrate NADCAP, AMS 2750E, UKAS, ITS 90, Electrical, Electronic, furnaces, Aerospace, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, Scotland The successful Instrument Calibration Engineer will need to be flexible as there may be overtime and other duties not mentioned in this job description.
