Long-Term PAYE Contract

Working Hours:

  • Winter Period (Mid-August – Mid-March): 48 hours per week
  • Alternating shifts:
  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00am – 7:00pm
  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00am – 5:30pm, Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
  • Summer Period (Mid-March – Mid-August): 38 hours per week
  • Alternating shifts:
    • Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
    • Monday–Thursday: 7:00am – 3:00pm, Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

    The Role:

    Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a modern production facility in Flintshire. This is a hands-on position within a small, highly skilled engineering team, focused on ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Carry out routine maintenance and inspections on plant and equipment
    • Handover completed work to production in a timely manner
    • Report outstanding or incomplete work to the Electrical Team Leader and Project Manager
    • Ensure all work complies with BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and new equipment installations
    • Work closely with production teams to maintain safety and output standards
    • Promote safe working practices in line with SHEQ procedures
    • Assist with training of new personnel when required
    • Identify spare parts and equipment requirements with the Electrical Team Leader
    • Record near misses and required actions using on-the-job risk assessments
    • Establish best-practice routines for machine setup and changeovers
    • Ensure correct storage of parts and equipment and proper use of PPE
    • Attend regular maintenance meetings

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in a process or production environment (packaging machinery experience preferred)
    • Strong understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) systems
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
    • HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
    • Experience with industrial electrical installations
    • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
