Job Description:

Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation in the packaging industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the company\’s success and be a key team member.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance activities and safety inspections.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics during reactive breakdowns or planned maintenance.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance on production machinery, including extruders and site services.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of breakdowns while maintaining PPM schedules.
  • Follow and promote strict HSE and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to support plant and equipment, maximizing production.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and propose solutions for better workflows.
  • Perform maintenance tasks as scheduled or directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Respond quickly to unplanned maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly to identify root causes.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities based on preventative schedules to optimize resource use.
  • Make informed decisions swiftly, using experience and best practices.
  • Involve specialists for complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate and high-standard documentation.

Experience Required:

  • Motivated, flexible, with strong logical fault-finding skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; confident team player.
  • Experience in a production maintenance environment.
  • Proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Ambitious, driven, and results-oriented with a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ or HNC/Degree in Engineering.
  • 18th Edition BS7671 qualification.
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools.

Additional Information:

  • Core hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Salary: £41,500 per annum.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • 5% employee and 3% employer pension contributions.
  • On-call rota every 3rd weekend; minimum 4 hours pay for call-outs.
  • Overtime on Saturdays, with double pay for Saturday evenings and Sundays.
