GPW Recruitment are seeking an experienced Buyer, with a strong background in the Construction sector, on a permanent basis.
This is a very exciting opportunity, to join a well established family business with over 30 years prescence in the industry.
Working as an essential part of a friendly, experienced team, you will work closely with contract manager and suppliers undertaking general purchasing duties within the construction industry.
Duties will include:
· Daily ordering of raw materials from external suppliers
· Ordering and reviewing of plant hire tools and equipment to ensure minimum hire costs whilst maintaining reports.
· Updating delivery dates / chasing late orders & expediting raw materials where required
· Monitoring stock levels & liaising with supervisor to replenish stocks
· Working closely with Contracts Managers, Goods In & Production to ensure business requirements are met including stock availability issues
· Liaising with Goods In / Purchase Ledger / Suppliers where delivery / invoice discrepancies arise
· Reviewing purchasing agreements with suppliers and maintaining price updates.
· Sourcing new raw materials suppliers and services.
· Requesting samples & technical information from potential new suppliers for future projects.
· Negotiating with new & existing suppliers
