GPS Recruitment are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team specialising in the design and manufacture of low-voltage electrical control panels for Building Management System (BMS) applications. The role will be initially for around 6 months.
You will be responsible for the design, development and documentation of electrical control panel solutions, supporting projects from initial concept through to manufacture and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design low-voltage electrical control panels for BMS and building automation applications.
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using CAD software.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs), technical documentation and manufacturing packs.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and customer specifications.
- Work closely with production and project teams to support build and testing activities.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding technical requirements where required.
- Review and improve existing designs to enhance quality, efficiency and manufacturability.
- Support troubleshooting and technical queries during project delivery.
- Assist with project planning and ensure design milestones are achieved.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical design of control panels.
- Strong CAD experience producing electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Good understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Experience creating technical documentation and bills of materials.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
