This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm with an excellent reputation, offering a varied and influential role at the heart of the business.
This position will suit an experienced practice professional who thrives in a hands-on, operational role and is looking to take ownership of internal processes, team coordination, and finance functions within a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring smooth operations across all service lines.
- Manage workflow, resourcing, and deadlines across accounts, tax, and payroll teams.
- Client accounting - management accounts and statutory accounts.
- Act as a key point of contact for staff, supporting performance, development, and team coordination.
- Oversee and review payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Take ownership of internal finance processes, including billing, WIP, and cashflow oversight.
- Support partners with operational strategy, reporting, and process improvements.
- Strong background within a UK accountancy practice environment.
- Good working knowledge of accounts, tax, and payroll processes.
- Experience in preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and tax computations.
- Proven experience managing workflows, teams, or operational functions.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Confident communicator with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working closely with partners.
- Ideally ACA / ACCA / MAAT qualified or qualified by experience.
- A varied and senior position with real influence over the running of the firm.
- Exposure to operational leadership, internal finance and client accounting.
- A collaborative, supportive culture with strong staff retention.
