GPN Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a reputable and growing accountancy firm to recruit an Audit RI at Senior Manager or Director level.
Led by a small team of partners, the firm has secured a significant number of new audit engagements, creating an opportunity for an experienced audit professional to take a leading role in its continued growth.
The ideal candidate will be an established Director with RI status, although an ambitious Senior Manager ready to step up will also be considered.
You will take responsibility for a portfolio generating approximately £500,000–£750,000 in fees, with scope for this to increase. The workload is expected to comprise 70% audit and 30% accounts and tax, predominantly supporting owner-managed businesses.

Key responsibilities
- Lead a varied client portfolio, overseeing the delivery of audit, accounts and tax assignments.
- Take responsibility for audit quality, technical judgements and compliance with relevant professional standards.
- Act as Responsible Individual on audit engagements, subject to the appropriate registration and authorisation.
- Review audit files, financial statements and supporting work, providing clear guidance to the team.
- Build strong relationships with business owners and directors, acting as a trusted adviser and senior point of contact.
- Manage portfolio performance, including budgets, deadlines, fees and resources.
- Develop and support colleagues through coaching, technical guidance and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to business development, including prospective client meetings, proposals and identifying opportunities within existing relationships.
- Work closely with the partners to support the firm’s growing audit practice.
Qualifications and skills
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with substantial audit experience within UK accountancy practice.
- Ideally an existing Audit RI operating at Director level; strong Senior Managers seeking a step up are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience leading audit engagements and managing relationships with owner-managed businesses.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing standards and relevant financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to review work, manage teams and maintain high standards of delivery.
- Commercial awareness and confidence contributing to business development.
- Experience with Inflo and CCH would be advantageous.
