GPN Recruitment are partnering with a well-established, independent accountancy practice based in North London who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking for a varied role within a friendly and supportive firm.
You will work with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders across a range of sectors, gaining exposure to accounts, audit and tax work. The role is predominantly focused on accounts preparation and tax compliance, whilst also offering regular audit exposure (approximately 25% of the role) and the opportunity to review work prepared by junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Preparing personal tax returns.
- Working on / leading audit assignments from planning through to completion (approximately 25% of the role).
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to day-to-day queries.
- Supporting with ad hoc assignments and technical projects.
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or qualified by experience with relevant practice experience.
- Recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Confident in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
- Personal tax experience.
- Capable of leading audits from planning to completion, or experience in assisting on audits.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A genuinely varied role across accounts, audit and tax.
- Exposure to a broad and interesting client portfolio.
