GPN Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Central London, who are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Accounts Semi-Senior to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous practice experience who enjoys working across bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation, and is looking to continue developing within a supportive and professional environment.
Working closely with qualified Accountants within the team, you will play a key role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients across day-to-day accounting requirements. The successful candidate will be confident using Excel, comfortable working with cloud-based systems, and ideally have exposure to TaxCalc software.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
- Completing and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting with accounts preparation up to trial balance stage
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations
- Supporting senior staff with client queries and ad-hoc tasks
- Working with accounting software including TaxCalc
- Using Excel confidently
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong bookkeeping and VAT experience
- Understanding of accounts preparation up to trial balance
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Experience with TaxCalc would be advantageous
- Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
