GPH Builders Merchants are the largest independent Builders merchants in the North of Scotland operating from 4 locations across Aberdeenshire. Due to expanding our delivery service, we have a vacancy for an experienced Class 2 Lorry Driver to join our transport team operating predominantly across the North East of Scotland. We operate Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm, and work locally, so you'll never be far away from returning to base.
The successful candidate will be transporting a wide range of construction materials to construction sites, business premises and households. The business operates a modern fleet of vehicles and requires a driver with a high level of care for their own safety and that of our customers. We are looking for drivers who are used to dealing with customers and have a warm, friendly and helpful manner.
Responsibilities:- Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Deliver goods to designated locations, maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
- Manage flatbed loads securely, adhering to weight limits and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Maintain a clean driving record and uphold company policies at all times.
At least one year's Class 2 driving experience is required. Hiab (vehicle mounted crane) preferred but not essential as training will be offered to the right candidate.
Full-time, Permanent 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Pay: £14.00-£21.00 per hour
