Responsibilities
- Delivering safe, evidence-based weight management services.
- Assessing patient consultations remotely and prescribing repeat GLP-1 medication where clinically appropriate, in line with GPHC guidelines and internal SOPs.
- Keeping up to date with NICE guidelines on weight management and obesity treatment.
- Maintaining accurate patient records in line with data protection (GDPR).
- Strong knowledge of weight management, nutrition, and obesity guidelines.
- Reviewing and assessing online patient consultations for repeat weight loss medication.
- Prescribing GLP-1 medication.
- Identifying contraindications, safeguarding and red flags.
- Requesting additional information or declining treatment where clinically necessary.
- Ensuring prescribing aligns with GPHC standards / Company SOPs and clinical pathways.
- Providing clear and accurate patient counselling.
Essential requirements
- Registered with the GPHC.
- Qualified Independent Prescriber.
- Insurance – must be provided.
- Must have a personal laptop.
- Must have a Right to Work in the UK.
- Previous experience of GLP-1 medication – for weight loss (ideal).
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Must be IT literate.
- Up to date with mandatory training.
- Dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacists who want to work differently.
