Responsibilities:
- As a GP working for GPDQ, you will have access to a multitude of workstreams enabling you to develop a portfolio career.
- Provide high-quality care services to registered patients, including the management of acute and chronic conditions, preventative care, health promotion, women's health services (including contraceptive coil fitting/removal), and patient education.
- Carry out face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations with patients to assess their medical needs, diagnose conditions, and provide appropriate treatment or referrals.
- Evaluate and manage a broad spectrum of health conditions, including same-day acute conditions.
- Perform clinical examinations and interpret results from diagnostic tests such as blood tests, ECGs, and X-rays.
- Prescribe medication safely and appropriately in accordance with GMC and NHS standards.
- Provide contraceptive services, including intrauterine device/system (IUD/IUS) insertion, removal, and follow-up care.
- Manage chronic disease clinics (e.g., diabetes, COPD, hypertension) as required.
- Provide health education, screening, and advice on lifestyle and preventive medicine.
- Refer patients to secondary care and other services when clinically appropriate.
- Contribute to safeguarding and child/vulnerable adult protection processes.
- Work collaboratively with practice staff, community services, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and contemporaneous patient records (EMIS/SystmOne or equivalent).
Essential Requirements:
- Registered with the GMC
- Must have a Right to Work in the UK
- No minimum post CCT experience if a newly qualified GP; must be working in a GP Practice or have worked in an NHS practice for a minimum of 6 months
- Must be IT literate
- Proven experience as General Practitioner, with experience of coil fitting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
- Empathetic and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery
