HCA Phlebotomist for Health Checks & Phlebotomy – £16 - 22 per hour
Location: Milford Haven
Shift Pattern:
- Monday – Friday: 07:50 – 18:10
- Saturday – No scheduled appointments, may be introduced later in the project
- Sunday: 10:50 – 15:55
To start: October 2026.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be able to drive a manual vehicle
- Must be over 25 years old
- Hold a clean driver’s licence
Responsibilities:
- Re-confirm participant details before the appointment commences.
- Take height, weight and waist measurements; record heart rate and blood pressure; input results into the system.
- Draw two blood samples, label and store correctly at fixed and mobile locations.
- Check participant welfare throughout the appointment and escalate as required.
- Offer signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant.
- Prepare boxes containing samples for courier collection.
- Maintain at least one year’s active experience drawing blood (validated through competency checklist and references).
Background:
Over 1,000,000 participants over the age of 18. A six-day‑per‑week service, Monday to Sunday, linked to laboratory opening hours, open 07:50 to 18:10 to ensure maximum accessibility. Service delivered across various regions in Northern Ireland, Wales & Scotland, comprising moving vehicle services. 15‑minute appointment per participant, inclusive of: confirming identity, verifying consent, completing BP, heart rate, height, weight, waist, obtaining venous blood draw (2 × 6 ml EDTA samples). Providing the participant with any information based on tests undertaken (where applicable).
